music city series: Opryland

This area of town is very important to me because I work at the Grand Ole Opry House. When people come into the Opry Shop, they always assume that there isn’t a lot to do in that area of town, but that’s far from the truth. If you stop by the Opry, be sure to take my tips on other things to do in the area.

Shops

If your staying at the Gaylord, there is really no reason to leave. The hotel features boutiques, a boot store, it’s own Opry store, Nashville/Gaylord gift shops, plus more.

Attractions

Gaylord Springs Golf Links (18 Springhouse Ln)

“Gaylord Springs, designed by US Open and PGA champion Larry Nelson, offers challenges for golfers of any skill level. The links-style course demands accuracy to stay clear of the deep bunkers, water hazards and rolling grass mounds but also requires creativity and a soft touch around the undulating, MiniVerde Bermuda grass greens. Carved from the banks of the meandering Cumberland River and bordered by limestone bluffs and wetlands, Gaylord Springs Golf Links will test and enthuse you from the moment you tee off until you pull your ball from the cup.”

Soundwaves

SoundWaves at Gaylord Opryland Resort in Nashville is an unexpected aquatic attraction for hotel guests that unites extraordinary environments, exclusive upscale amenities and relaxing water features with energetic rides, immersive music and an extraordinary oasis for people of all ages to enjoy.”

General Jackson Showboat (2812 Opryland Dr)

The Grand Ole Opry House (2804 Opryland Dr)

The Grand Ole Opry House was built in 1974 to double the space of the Ryman Auditorium and provide heating and air to the 4,400 fans in the audience. It is the Opry’s sixth home in 95 years. The Opry House offers backstage tours, where you get the opportunity to stand and have your picture taken in the infamous, wooden circle. Tours continue to fill up quickly on a daily basis, so I recommend buying your tickets at least a day before. At the end of the tour, you’ll exit through the Opry Shop and you’ll get to see me!

Additionally, for a limited time, we are selling Luke Combs merchandise in the store!

Stores

Many of the stores in Opry Mills are outlet stores, which means you can find a good deal. My favorite store is the Kate Spade Outlet. They sometimes have purses marked at $80 that are originally $300 plus. Another store offered in Opry Mills is Bass Pro Shop. When you have time, it’s fun to explore Bass Pro and look at the fish.
